Kyle and I went to Hampton, VA for a couple day vacation - We had a free ticket we needed to use before the end of April, so we drove to Kansas City, KS/MO and flew to Baltimore, MD (changed planes) and then flew to Norfolk, VA! We went to see Val, Lana, Morgan, Kira, Westin, Trenton, and Nora - our cousins! We went to meeting with them on Sunday at Paul and Amy's (old friends of some good friends of ours... :)) and then Val took all but Lana and Nora to Buckroe Beach for a while! Kyle loved the sand, wasn't too sure about the water for a while but by the time we left the bottom of his shorts legs were wet!! He had a fine layer of sand in his hair too!
And someone so kindly left their shovel and pail and a big hole behind to help in the playing process!! Monday brought lots of visiting between Lana and myself and lots of playing between 3 little boys and Nora, too! Kyle loves tractors (of which they had a couple he adopted) and discovered the world of Thomas the Train! {TRRaaaaiin/choochoo}
Monday evening we went to Val's base (I can't remember the name of it) to tour! It is actually a historic area and was beautiful to see! There is a moat around part of it which was neat. And of course, beach. Tuesday we spent lounging around and playing outside - just having some downtime before a day of travel! Yesterday we went to the airport early in the morning, flew to Chicago Midway and then to Kansas City to drive home again!
