So, we put our house on the market right before Memorial Day weekend and closed on it before Labor Day weekend!! We found an inexpensive townhouse to rent (2 bed/1.5 bath) near the school and even walked a few times! Sometimes we walked by choice and sometimes because the van was acting up...

We moved into the new place the last weekend of August, closed Sept 2nd and left for Clever I Convention after that! :) Busy week!!!

While we were packing up, we had to have a tree taken down because it was dead.

Kolby was my watcher but the chainsaw was too noisy so he had to sit inside!!

Now that the noisy part is done... he sat out with the guys while they took a drink break too. :)

We got out to the farm after Union Meeting for the 4th of July campout - stopped to drop food in the refrigerator and this is what the boys found in the yard!

Busy weeks!!

The past weeks have been crazy busy!!

Two weekends ago I had a booth at a MOPS Craft Fair. It was a first time deal for them and they had quite a bit of traffic. I sold a few books, met some contacts...

Then taxes were due. I had NO IDEA what all would be/was involved with taxes for a business like mine where I order/sell/inventory/expenses... etc. They are done and I still can't wrap my head around it all!!!

At the end of the week I had a booth at a Mothers of Multiples Consignment Sale! That was quite interesting!!! :) Lots of twos of things... In the midst of that, we had a Spaghetti Fundraiser dinner for ICAN of NW Arkansas - it took a lot of work but was quite successful!

Then it was to recover... Sunday was a welcome rest! :) We have decided to get our house in order, get things cleaned up and get projects done!! Among those projects is ironing. Lots and lots of ironing. Saying it that way still might be an understatement. So, I downloaded a book from our library and have been ironing to the story. It was a very good one but is done. The seconded one I downloaded is not very good - so far anyway... :( Guess I'll have to find something different to entertain myself!!

In other news, after I have a booth at a function, I get to re-order books with my funds! So, today I got two boxes of books and learning palettes!! The boys and I have fun going through the boxes - I check them in and they 'check them out!'

Kolby has been sick this week... :( Not sure what is wrong - yucky nose, eyes, fever last night, not eating a whole lot... seems a bit better acting today. He needs to get better quickly so Del doesn't have to deal with sickness while I am gone to Chicago for a quick trip for training! I am really looking forward to it and to a short visit with my St. Louis friends on the way home!! :)

I think that is it for now.... I need to be using the camera so I have pictures to post!

We received word yesterday that Kyle's name was drawn in the lottery for our local public charter school!! We are very excited - makes school seem more real! He starts kindergarten on August 5, I think it is!!

As usual, I've not been updating but I'm really trying to get my life in order. Once that happens, blogging will have more time.

I am in the process of getting my Usborne Business re-energized and motivated!! And when it rains, it pours!! I have a booth at a craft fair on Saturday, next week I'll be at a consignment sale for 3 days, in May I'm hoping to be at the local Arkansas Homeschooling Convention with a booth...

On the International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN) front, I am now a co-leader of our local chapter. Since April is Cesarean Awareness Month, we are putting together a Spaghetti Fundraiser, Silent Auction and Bake Sale for April 16th.

In the midst of all this, we are planning to put the house on the market so we can be closer to Kyle's school and life in general! While we love our house and the quietness, it is less than ideal for kids to play in the street when cars zoom by faster than they should and to get anywhere, we add at least 15 minutes to our traveling from what it COULD be... :)

That is a bit of an update... I'll plan to update after things slow down a bit in our lives! Especially after April is done! Oh, and I forgot!! The weekend of the 24th of April I am going to a Regional Training class in Chicago!! I am really looking forward to seeing everyone and all the information and encouragement I'm going to get!! Motivation!!!

Remembering that day 8 years ago. I can't believe it has been 8 years...

I was under the weather and decided not to share it with my co-workers so stayed home. I logged into my dial-up (my how times have changed) and saw the first plane had hit and perhaps even the 2nd. I remember feeling shock then I called my parents to see if they'd heard. The day and week passed in numbness...

I'm so thankful that God is in control... I wish I could leave all in his hands and let him control me... We heard so many good things at our church convention last week about prayer.

New Words & Comments in our house!!

Kolby is learning words and sounds!! His newest word is uh oh uh. He says bonk, crash, hi, bye bye, nigh nigh (for bed), mama, dad, Kyle (not just like that but I don't know how to spell it :)), barks, moos, acts like a monkey, quacks (usually while looking at books in meeting!!), yes & no (both in words and sign), diaper, cheep cheep (bird), cheesssssse (for pictures)... I'm sure I'll think of more!! He and Kyle LOVE to play together! Kyle reads books to Kolby. The newest game Kolby plays is to ride the fire truck into the room, make a big noise to get my attention, I say "Well, HI!! How was your day today??" He grins, looks at me... I say, "Bye bye, have a good day at work!" and he drives away with a wave!! Over and over and over....

Kyle comes up with big words and comments! The other day while driving down the road he said, "Mommy, you desperately need to get some stuff done?" Ummmm... Yes I do!! =D

While Grampa Wayne and Gramma Dawn were here last week, this was the conversation with Grampa as repeated to me by Gramma:

Kyle: What you doing Grampa?
Grampa: Shaving. (I think he asked if Kyle does that...)
Kyle: Maybe when I'm 81.

Since we'd sold both trucks, we had one vehicle so one day the boys and I decided to walk to the nearest park - only 1.5 miles away!! Kolby rode in the stroller while Kyle & I walked. We were almost there and Kyle said, "Mommy, my legs are tired!!" I knew we were in trouble... So, after our picnic lunch, playing on the playground and swinging, Del came on his "lunch hour" to pick us up and take us home. What a wonderful Daddy!!

So I'm WAYYYYY behind... the other day someone commented on following my blog but it had been a while and they wanted to see pictures of the boys... erm, oops! You see (by the following) that I actually start things then don't finish them... get sidetracked or something. :)

In May, I sold my truck, finally. It was a sad but necessary parting and found a good home in Louisiana, of all places so someday some of you could see it on the road!! :)

Kyle is pretty self-sufficient... all his bowls were in the dishwasher so he found a cup for his cereal and milk as well as a cup for milk to drink!!

May found us in Texas for Kyle's 4th birthday and a couple Usborne Books parties!! We had a grand time at Grampa Wayne and Gramma Dawn's with Uncle Kent, Aunt Molly, Madison, Preston, Uncle Kory, Aunt Teresa, and Ryan!!

So, Kyle is supposed to be sleeping. Of course, he doesn't go down for his nap until Kolby wakes up from his... so much for Mommy time! Anyway, I peek in because it has been really quiet for a while - just want to make sure he's okay. He's not sleeping. He's just looking at the door. So I decide I'm going to snuggle him. He gets in my lap and I cradle him. He sticks his arm out behind me so I tuck it in.

Kyle: "No, don't do that. My arm might get hot."

Me: *snicker*

I run my hand over his eyes to close them... they pop open.

Me: "Close your eyes so you can go to sleep."

Kyle: "No, my eyes might get hot!"

Me/Kyle: *giggle giggle laugh laugh*

This morning I was tired so slept in a bit - Kyle did too, I think... He had eaten a couple cookies for breakfast and then I fixed him some yogurt and cheese stick. I couldn't figure out why it took him SO LONG to finish his breakfast! Tonight we went to some friends' house for supper and I asked Del how many cookies he'd left for us to eat - all of them. 10-12 cookies. And Kyle ate them all before 9am. Whew! No wonder he didn't have room for breakfast!!!

After we got home from dinner and visiting, I opened my truck door to get Kyle and heard some beeping... the CO alarm was going off (2nd time this winter) - stinkin' battery!! So, I went in the house, made sure the pilot wasn't out on the fireplace after I reset the alarm and went in search of the instruction booklet. I read all of the sections about the CO detector and what I should be doing etc. To make a long story short, we've never installed a new battery properly and when it is done right, the racket stops right away instead of going on and on....!!! Wooohoooo for reading the instruction manual!! I just replaced it in December or something but I guess two days of detecting battery only was too much. So, tomorrow I'm off to buy new batteries! As well as food to restock the fridge and freezer!!

We went to Branson, MO for chiropractic appointments on Kolby's birthday so decided to make a long weekend of it! We found an awesome 2 bed/2 bath condo with TONS of extras (pack'n'play, toys, detergents, condiments...) at http://www.vrbo.com/. Our condo was the Homestead and can be seen at http://www.bransonweekend.com/. Mark and Pam joined us (no pictures but they are in the video...) for Kolby's birthday dinner and good visits!!

You were almost smiling before we came home from the hospital :) and you had stretches bigger than any I'd seen before! We had some sunflowers.... Okay, one REALLY big one!! We planted some others but they turned out wimpy compared to this one, as you'll see later!

Well, when we got back from OKC, we had special company! Joy W and Christina C came to stay with us for a couple nights. Unfortunately, I had some sort of infection (?) so had chills/fever - I sure hope they didn't catch it from me! That lasted for a week during which time my camera decided to kaput so my pictures will not be as plentious... I do have another digital camera but it does not have a flash so is limited in its abilities. Oklahoma City Trip!

We decided to go to OKC for a weekend. We stayed at the Embassy Suites (awesome breakfast - omelettes made in front of you...). We went to the Zoo on Saturday - it turned out to be quite cold in the morning (okay, for a lot of the day) so was not 100% pleasant but we saw neat animals and Kyle really enjoyed it! We then had supper with Susie H and Regina! Regina, thanks for dessert and for sharing your worker company with us! :) Sunday we went to OKC special meeting then out to eat with Grandpa Calvin, Grandma Pat and Great Grandpa Les. On the way home, Kyle had some sort of breathing attack. It was absolutely awful as we had nothing along to help him out - the Benadryl was home, the inhaler was home... for a while I wondered if we were going to have to all 911 and have them meet us on I-40. Blah. We made it to a Wal-Mart for Benadryl (in case it was an allergic reaction to something) which did seem to help. However, he was still really wheezing when we got home so I gave him a breathing treatment which really didn't do anything so at 1:30 in the morning I was on the phone with a nurse in Little Rock who had me give a Rescue treatment. It did help more so that was good! However, since none of us had very much sleep Del stayed home from work - we also weren't sure if we were going to need to take him in anyway.... It was a rather stressful ending to a wonderful weekend.

Since I had surgery, I was not allowed to lift more than the baby for a month. AAaaaaccckkk!! What to do? Luckily Del had taken vacation days while we were in the hospital and my mom came for almost 3 weeks. We were SO thankful for her help... Then Del took his paternity leave of 2 weeks which was a HUGE help! While he was off, he played with Kyle...

Kolby Glen was born 1/22/08 at 6:34 PM, weighed 9 pounds 1.3 ounces and was 22.5 inches long!

We had been contracting off and on since Friday but started getting more serious Monday afternoon/evening because we were out shopping and then had Mexican food for supper. We had some bad weather coming so didn't want our doula to come out for false labor and risk her life... by 5 AM Tuesday morning I was just waiting for it to get light outside so I could call her! They were 5 minutes apart. After I called they went to about 3 minutes apart and by the time we left for the hospital at 10AM they were 1 minute apart! When we got to the hospital we were 7-8cm dilated and some of you know I had an emergency c-section with Kyle so the plan this time was a natural delivery(VBAC). 5 hours later we had made no progress and it was because he was turned facing forward and his head was tilted. We made the decision to do a c-section because there didn't seem to be any hope of him getting out and after the c-section that was confirmed. He was so wedged into that position that it took 3 tries for the doctor to get him out! The other reason I'm glad we didn't wait longer is because he was so sore (head and body) that he hurt when we touched him for several days. So, we are recovering from the surgery, Kyle LOVES his baby brother, Del has a touch of a cold or something so he's under the weather and we are VERY thankful that my Mom can be here to help us! Of course, she is providing too much opportunity for laughs which is killing ME but we are having a good time! :)

Christmas week brought a visitor from North Carolina! Tama arrived in the evening of Christmas Eve - we were glad to find Ruby Tuesdays open (one of the only restaurants that was). Christmas Day we had Jason R, Aaron R and Garrett O over for lunch. They went to help Aaron do a job then came back for games! David, Kathy, Dot, Susie and Cindy joined us for snacks and puzzles in the evening! Once again, the camera didn't make it out!

We also had a trip to Branson to see Angie and Doctor Wayne :) then a bit of a tour around the town...

Saturday we went to War Eagle Mill (pictures below). Kyle enjoyed the Butter Almond ice cream cone that he and Mommy shared while Daddy and Tama enjoyed their blackberry cobblers at The Bean Palace!

Before we left, Kyle was trying to get Grampa Wayne to give him things off the shelf that he's not supposed to have! Good thing Gramma Dawn was in there to tell what was off limits! We had a wonderful time playing games and visiting and eating! Andy and Shanna had a REAL turkey in a cage outside - Kyle got pretty much everyone to take him out there! Unfortunately it was FREEZING!!! So, the trips to see the turkey were short!

Well, we went to Texas, where we succeeded in not taking very many pictures!! We went to Kory, Teresa, Ryan and Winchester's where Kyle was thoroughly licked to pieces! We were also joined there by Kent, Molly, Madison, and Preston quite a bit, too! We spent a lovely time visiting, eating, reading comic books, eating... and then I think we ate some more! Sunday we went to Kent & Molly's for a yummy lunch and then vegged there until it was time to meet Grampa Wayne and Gramma Dawn and travel through torrential rains to their house! While there, we acquired a 1997 Honda Accord, in GREAT condition (thanks to Kory for his hard work) so we had 3 vehicles in this caravan in the rain. Kyle, Gramma and I had the car and Gramma spent much of her time adjusting the little mirror that suctions to the window so Kyle could see Daddy's headlights behind us.

We went from there to Georgetown Convention where we were greatly fed, once again.

Del left Sunday after lunch taking the car and traveled with Aaron and Jason, who had come down, too. After convention was over, we had the privilege of attending Marguerite McMahan's funeral - wonderful to think again on her life, spent in God's will. After the funeral, we stayed for some of the tear-down where Kyle was thrilled to see a bobcat/forklift in action - picking up racks of chairs - he still talks about it!!! There was also a tractor/trailer that picked up trash that Del & his brother used to ride on when they were kids! Kyle & Del went one time but Kyle was startled by the tractor noise and wouldn't go again!

Kyle and I went back to Grampa and Gramma's for week where we really didn't do much of anything! We had a wonderful time... went to Angela, David, and Marion's for lunch one day with Connie, too. I had lunch out with one of my previous co-workers. Kyle spent much of his days playing toys and asking "Where Grampa (or Gramma) go?"

Our cousins gave us a refrigerator to play with - Kyle loves it! I've caught him in the bathroom getting water to put in the sink....
Of course, it is also used for ulterior motives! We have since moved it's location... :)
We also got a great deal on this cool dump truck!!! Kyle takes it outside and fills it with rocks and grass and sticks...

Later in the week, our real refrigerator stopped working! Turns out it was the freezer (defrost timer) but it did create havoc in our housefor a bit - we had to use a cooler for a couple days to keep the milk cold... Thank goodness for Best Buy's 5 year warranty!!!

Well, after Rogers Kyle and I went to Clever, MO. Some friends of ours needed a car returned to MO so we brought it up for them! Del joined us on Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed the days of spiritual rain...

When we returned home, I was in a cleaning mood so was vacuuming the window trays (is that what they are called?) out and heard a noise - It must have been my vacuum because when I turned it off, the noise quit. When I finished the room I was in, this is what I found!!!

The noise I heard was the chair moving across the kitchen floor and Kyle had found my pearing knife and sliced the bananas! So, we made a delicious fruit salad!

Well, we went for our 20 week Ultrasound last Thursday! We did not find out what we were having with Kyle and had decided not to find out with this little one either! As time got closer, I started using the few brain cells that haven't gone on vacation and thought that it would be nice to be able to wash/hang all the blue clothes with just Kyle instead of trying to do it with two babies! So, we broke down and found out - the tech had quite the time trying to get measurements as he is VERY active! At this moment all the blue clothes are washed and dried - just waiting to hang up in the closet! Kyle keeps saying it is all Baby Ryan's (that is our newest cousin)...

We had played outside in the sandbox in the morning, so while Kyle's lunch was in the oven I let him play in the bath. Our house isn't huge, so since I could hear him playing, I went and played piano. I heard him say, "More bubbles." Well, we don't put bubbles in his bath so I, being a snad concerned went to check on him! :) He had dumped his new bottle of soap out completely!!
After nap, I frosted a cake for Del to take to work and since the frosting isn't on my diet, I let Kyle clean the spreader!

Since the sandbox has stayed dampish, it had an odor... :) So, Del and Kyle emptied it so I could spray it out and we put it in a different spot on the porch so it won't get wet. Of course, it won't rain again... By the way, the jeans and long sleeves were protection from the mosquitoes... I think he only got 5 or 6 bites instead of the usual ???. They even bit through the shirt!!!

Yesterday, we washed the trucks! We brought Kyle's pool into the front yard so we could wash while he played! I ended up TOO tired so Del washed the trucks and then had to play with Kyle! Kyle likes to jump up and land on his behind (Dr. Wayne will be pleased, I'm sure! Means more visits to him...) making big splashes!!!

Family Reunion 2007

Mulberry River Mountain Ranch was a great place to go!!! We arrived on Sunday, July 1st, 2007. We hauled everything but the kitchen sink into our rooms and then sat down and awaited the arrival of the rest of the crowd from their cave excursions at War Eagle! After the infamous family meeting, Kyle found out that Daddy and Mommy know what they are talking about after pulling a fresh cup of coffee (big styrofoam cup) off the table onto himself. Luckily the damage was minimal - the hollering, however, was not. It was all better by Monday morning.

Which brings us to... Monday found Kyle wearing a new shirt at breakfast (see pictures below). We couldn't get a picture at the reunion so had to take these after we got home.

I Have a Secret!

And so the family found out we are expecting in January!

A little while later we had another surprise!!! Uncle Kory and Aunt Teresa and brand new cousin Ryan showed up at the reunion! Of course, I didn't get any pictures of Dad and Mom... :) Just Great-Grandma holding the precious little one... The third surprise of the day was Uncle Kent finishing his work week early so he was able to come late Monday night!!!!

Tuesday we went to the Rodeo of the Ozarks in Springdale, AR! It was loud but the horses and cows/bulls/calves and sheep and sheep dogs were SO cool!! There were even Monkeys riding sheep dogs. There was also another surprise at the rodeo!!

Wednesday we vegged and played badmitton at the ranch! Then we had our bible study after supper and watched fireworks (some went out and the rest of us watched them from the beautiful sunroom at the lodge)! It was one of the best displays we've ever seen!!!

Thursday some folks took off for homes far away - CA, MN and TX. Del, Kari and Kyle went to our first doctor's appointment!! We love our doctor and everything is doing great! A quiet day was had by all, I think! Baby Trevor didn't know what to do with all the kids missing! :)

Friday, the rest of us went home after moving out of our rooms! Del, Kyle and I stopped by Terra Studios on the way home and checked out the Blue Birds of Happiness and the pottery etc. Fun place to stop and see! Grampa Wayne and Gramma Dawn went to Branson for an appointment and then came and spent the night with us before heading out early Saturday morning! I think everyone should have made it home by now and is recuperating! :) We had a GREAT time and look forward to the next one in 3 years!!!

Well, I do not have a great excuse for not posting (except we've been gone for almost a week)... The last week of June was spent getting ready for our family reunion and company beforehand. We also were able to enjoy our workers (Alice and Glenda) for a few days! Kyle surely enjoyed them too! Friday evening was spent in great anticipation of Grampa Wayne and Gramma Dawn's arrival as well as Aunt Molly, Madison, and Preston! They spent Friday night and Saturday night with us.
